Olive Branch & Texas Tech Medical Brigade June 2011
Olive Branch Ministries and 14 first year medical students from Texas Tech, a group 45 strong, arrived on June 11th to conduct a week long Medical Brigade. The group divided into two smaller groups. One group going to Yali, a town northwest of Jinoteg an hour and a half, while the other group went to a different community every day. The Texas Tech students remained for another week to work with the Health Promoters in the area. During the first week of the brigade the combined totals are as follows: Medical 1,567 patients seen, 902 eyeglasses were fitted, dental 121 patients/178 teeth extracted, Physical Therapy 86 patients seen and 839 kids participated in VBS.
